Education

Providing and funding quality education in the Blue Valley and Shawnee Mission Schools is and remains the No. 1 priority.  The citizens of Leawood and Overland Park overwhelming support funding to maintain schools, minimize classroom size, raise teacher salaries to a respectable living, support special needs kids, and encourage teaching in the arts and languages.  That's why Rep. Doug Patterson, with a 100% voting record, was one of the 11 members of the house consistently voting for each and every revenue source for K-12 as well as supporting the Regents' college programs.

Local Control

State government is in our lives to an excess.  That is why schools, seniors programs, libraries and other functions of local government we enjoy here at home should be properly funded and then freed from the control of Topeka.

Getting Things Done

Any candidates platform is only as good as their ability to get things done.  With tenure and seniority in the House of Representatives, Doug Patterson will continue his leadership positions in the Legislature as an effective voice for Leawood, Overland Park and Johnson County.
